Katherine Cox Stevenson, PhD (Nursing) is a woman finally living from her heart as a writer, oil painter, tiny homestead keeper, journal instructor, and spousal dementia survivor. She considers creative expression equally important for health as meditation, exercise, nutrition, nature, etc. Living on a tiny island off the coast of British Columbia, Canada, she describes her life as, “wonderfully simple” with no street lights, sidewalks, taxis, and minimum health care. Instead lots of peace, a deep connection with the sea and trees, animals (both domestic and wild), birds, and magical stars. She lives in a little blue house up on a hill overlooking the Salish Sea.
The current title of the book she is writing, “Weeping willow no longer weeping: A memoir of a woman finally listening to her soul’s pleas.”
It took some time for Katherine to give herself permission to deep dive into self-care after her husband died, yet she needed to do so in order to live. Although barely surviving three years ago, she is now thriving and wants to share her expertise and passions with others in efforts to honor their soul pleas. She offers a variety of options to engage 1:1 or in groups to journal write (Journal Writing tab), as well as, being available for client advocacy and care-giver support (Offerings tab). She also sells some of her oil paintings (Oil Painting tab) and writes reflections (Musings tab).
